Special One

Did any of u know Rama? Eko ramaditya Adikara? Well, maybe some of us known him after his apearrance in our national television, especially at Kick Andy’s program at, Metro TV, but honestly i did not really know who is rama until I saw him in person in his motivationals training "the power of blind". The training it self was being held by his management at menara 165 JKT, on May 9, 2010.

I have heard about Eko Ramaditya Adikara from my Friends, they told me that rama is special. He is a writer, journalist, editor, blogger and motivator .But what make him extraordinary is the fact that he has visual disability (Blind).

Imagine, with his disabilityies he can be what he wanna be. . He gives motivations to others, not only for people with disabilities but also for person "without disabilities". He written a book tittle The Blind Power, make peace with darkness (berdamai dengan kegelapan).

I feel lucky because I had a chance attending his training and listening to life story of Eko Ramaditya Adikara, he has been really inspiring me. After that time i never stop saying Alhamdulilah, thanks to God for giving me physically complete .

don't dare having dreams, no matter what u are, just believe that your dreams will come true someday.

Congroatulations for Rama i hope that u will always make masterpieces and spread your lights to others.

Facilitator in PwDs Training

I got my first experience to be a facililator in PwDs (People with Disabilities) training with others Gempita's member on 27 and 28 February 2010. The training itself was conducted at Ciganjur, Depok, by SEHJIRA (self help organization for PWDs), and as a GEMPITA’s member my capacity at that training was to become a volunteering facilitator.

There was an awesome experience. From my PWDs Friends, I have learned how to appreciate the others, how to become more patient, how to listen to unspoken words and how not to be worried in facing a small problem. There were so many of good things that I got from that training. But the most important thing that I learned during this training is how our PWDs friends have a capacity and capability to be included in our society for that reason I believe that our PWDs friends have rights to participated in all aspects of life in this society.

I give a highly appreciation for my PwDs friends especially Sehjira's members for they always give their best to do their roles in this life; like become a good mothers; a good employee, brilliant student etc. And the most important thing is that they are willingly take part in society as a agent of change to fight in reducing barrier and promote equal access in society.

It was two days training, and on the last day of the training, GEMPITA made a small contributions by organizing an outbound games which it purposed is to build a good team work among Sehjira’s members and its volunteer. e games was very exciting, all participants were getting more closer to each other.

That was one of what we have done with our PwDs friend,

I hope it will inspire other people to do something for others, especially for our PWDs friends.

Adventure in Tidung Island

It was long weekend at 2 – 3 April, I decided to become a backpacker and visited Tidung Island, located in Kepulauan Seribu, Jakarta raya’s province. I’ve never been there but I’m very interested because of my friend s (Ibez and Ichur) told me a lot about that island.

They told us that Tidung is very beautiful; white sand beach, clear water sea, variety of fish and beautiful coral ecosystem. The corals ecosystem itself is still chaste and clean, so we could see the bottom of sea. Based on their stories, we (me, Fre, Tendy, Mada also Ibez and Ichur) decided to go there.

Tidung Island located not so far away from Jakarta, arounds 3 hours by sea transportation (boat) from Muara Angke, one of port in North Jakarta. There are two islands in Tidung: Big Tidung and small Tidung, Big Tidung Island is inhabited with people but not in Small Tidung Island. The uniquely about this island is they built a wooden bridge to connect the big and the small Tidung Island. The bridge is also functions as the dock, where we can see the clear sea water and watch the beautiful sunrise and the sunset.

At the first day, We planned to camp at small Tidung because we think that this place is more quiet and is also the perfect place to enjoy the breeze and the singing waves to spent time in long night. But unfortunately the weather at that night was unfriendly so we had cancelled our camp plan and move our camp to Big Tidung Island.

The first thing we did after we arrived at Tidung island was renting snorkeling tools which cost only 35.000 rupiah a day. Honestly I was really afraid when the first time I tried to snorkel, I really regret it now because i couldn’t saw the bottom of sea, full with coral and many kind of fish swimming alongside the corals. It all happened just because I’m too scared to plunge my head into the water. At the end of that day, I just sat down and enjoyed the light breeze while all of my friends was snorkeling.

We continued the activities that afternoon with walked around through the island and felt the sand on our feet. We also walked thought the wooden bridge and simply enjoyed the young man challenged their adrenalin by jumped from the bridge, that was awesome to seen them made their own style when they jumped.

What an exhausted day, but i really enjoy it... the landscape of Tidung Island amazed me...
